Imagine a Lowe’s store that can tailor itself to you. We’re exploring technologies -- like AI, XR, and digital twins -- that can enable our associates to better manage our stores, making sure they adapt, evolve, and meet your needs on a more personal level.
When our customers walk into a Lowe's store, they expect a few basic things. They expect we'll have products in stock. They expect we'll have a clean layout that makes it easy to find what they want. They expect our stores to be safe.
Delivering on these expectations is anything but basic.
At Lowe’s Innovation Labs, we see a future in which technologies rewire how we understand and optimize what's happening in our stores. We’re building solutions that enable our stores to adapt and evolve in real-time to meet each customer that walks through our doors.
Lowe’s Innovation Labs sees a future in which AI, 3D visualization and augmented reality are part of our retail associates’ daily lives. Our industry-first digital twin brings this future to life today: a virtual replica of our physical store, created with NVIDIA Omniverse , that fuses multiple data sources together into one visual package and serves as a springboard for new applications that give our associates superpowers.
Using low-cost RFID chips and scanners, and a novel use of blockchain, Project Unlock is a proof-of-concept system that addresses power tool theft in customer-friendly ways.
LoweBot helps discover products and aids with inventory. Coupled with AI solutions, we can help our associates better understand the store environment in real-time.
Lowe’s Vision Navigation helps customers quickly find products in stores through indoor maps and depth-sensing.
